"Kites" was written by Hal Hackaday and Lee Pockriss and originally done by Simon Dupree & The Big Sound in 1967. A great song, but the Lemon Kittens' version is nothing but awesome.

First large record (following a 7” on Step Forward) by the duo of Karl Blake and Danielle Dax. The music is a wild mix of every pop and experimental impulse the pair could think of, bursting forth in quick sequence or even simultaneously. The band’s whole discography is whipped – like Angels’ Egg-era Gong somehow pulled through a timewarp into the UK DIY scene. Poof!
