In the current trance scene, I expect many would site this release as an example of where things have gone wrong. Too much minimalism, or too electro or techy, and the like. Normally, I'd admit that this region of music isn't my cup of tea. However, after a couple months of listening to these songs, I can't help but think that it's unfair to pigeonhole it in such a way. As a man who enjoys his trance when it's uplifting, airy, euphoric, whatever fitting synonym you want to use, Lost Luggage does this job as well. Detractors seem quick to dismiss this one, and seem less likely to acknowledge how this song may accomplish the key features of trance. The main melody in the Rank 1 remix opens up very nicely a couple of times during the breaks, done by splitting away from the main beats and bassline. This is done so by adding a subtle, airy presence of pads that, to me, add a nuanced feel of atmosphere that ride beneath the lead melody. The original version does this similarly as well, but I feel that the Rank 1 mix generally adds a little more verve and emotion. There are several build-ups in Rank 1 version, and it results in a genuinely interesting tune. All in all a fine release and one that I believe may be better received with time.
