Sometimes the progression from a band can be followed from its beginnings, you can see how they advance or experience some kind of devolution. But sometimes you don't and by choosing one album you may end up judging what may come up next in progression, whenever the band will probably be going right quite the other way.To devolve. The general course to follow for development then its either additions, stylization, enhancing of sound or lyricism, combination with different patrons or influences or simply depure their particular sound with minimalism and this is what can be an equivalent for devolution. Now for Lifelover "dekadens" this course seems to experience combination and depuration at the same time. The electronic parts are more patented here with undercovered synths, some samplers yet the basic melodic core is re-adapted to the basic premise of punk achords that form its prevalent composition, it is all about violent yet simplistic hooks aimed to syntonize with the agressive-depressive core their music is linked to.

The listener its exposed to a very intimate album, and quite evolved into its own devolution. While the previous discography from the band shows them embracing the more Black depressive metal current, its evident that in "Dekadens" they have surpassed the melancholic uproar and deal more with sound power. In order to do this they sacrificed a lot from the Black metal depressive moniker they used to wander into and sinked into guitar distortions that play with the minimalist one to one, one to three black metal-punk tremolo and the over powering pulse given by some equally basic Death metal accompaniment over it. The yuxtaposition of both sequences, devoid from any intent of curlicues grant its wish. The mini album shows Lifelover exposing the very centre from their music, their very basic premise of minimalist black metal with fucked up lyrics and similarly fucked up vocals, the final picture is some kind of heavily charged "deathwish" album, the core of feeling of a suicidal depressive individual.

In perspective, all previous albums portrays a band that develops contrary wise, searching for a basic note, a primary synthesis of sound that finds the strength in the minimum, in the very heart of despair.
