It appears this single from 1969 only appeared as a promo. If you enjoyed the 1970 album from Cynara, you will be surprised that both "Hello You" and "Life Stories" had their origins in this super-rare single from Listening. This appeared after their sole LP from 1968 on Vanguard. These versions are still very recognizable, "Hello You" being rather pop-oriented as is the version by Cynara, and "Life Stories" is more prog, with an extended organ solo, just like the one by Cynara. The vocals seem more mellow and less harsh than the versions done by Cynara. Cynara remaking this material was no surprise as that was the band Michael Tschudin headed after the demise of Listening. Since the Listening single appeared to be promo only, the public never got to hear those two songs (or at least purchase them at the time, I have no idea if radio stations played this) until Cynara remade them for their lone album. I am under the impression Listening was to record a followup album, and only managed to record those two new songs, then broke up, with Cynara appearing in their place to record an album (this time on Capitol). Cynara also did a remake of "Stoned Is" from Listening's lone LP. So if you enjoy the Cynara LP, or Listening, and if you can find this promo single, it's well worth it!
