LBE's mix of "Funky Future" was from a studio session, and in those days it was basically one-take live mix style, mastering wasn't so good here (live and learn). The original mix of "Funky Future" is on the 1996 release "Rush the Soundsystem EP" -the better version in my opinion.

"Funky Future (Remix)" received play in the 90's L.A. underground scene. The B-side 'Oricom Remix' was charted and played back in the day by West Coast DJ Doc Martin (Sounds You Can Feel Radioshow - GrooveRadio 103.1 5/10/97). Oricom Technologies produced some great records such as "Drum Exciter EP", Love American Style "Firebird/Away", and were featured in "Doc Martin - Urb Mix Vol.1: Flammable Liquid" (1994).

I have to say that this label has come a long way since it’s humble beginnings. I actually liked this one a lot- two tracks of west coast techno funk. The Dirty White Boy/Oricom mix of the title track is probably the most exciting- electronic yet full of soul with fantastic drum programming. The original is decent but doesn’t really have as much progression as the other mix- just a lot of percussion. Very good. <brad>
