Jon's Dub is one of the warmest, grooviest, most hypnotic chilled out uncategorizable tunes I've ever had the pleasure of hearing. Arthur Russell and Bob Blank and co. (as mentioned below, Blanks' wife) created a masterpiece right here. I was obsessed with this track a while ago and am getting re-obsessed with it lately. Apparently an instant Ibiza classic when it came out. Not even going to try to describe it. Superb.

Another stellar Arthur Russell production, this time from the fag end of the 1980s. Featuring engineer Bob Blank's wife Lola with the cutesy, totally out-there vocals, this is a typically leftfield piece of work from Russell on the tiny Jump Street label. It's been called proto-house, and it is, but its really got all the influences of underground dance music at that time. All mixes are essential, but Jon's Dub probably steals it with its nice piano riff towards the end. The mystery for me, though: who is Jon??
