That’s too bad they didn’t use the occasion to repress the very rare 15 min new shoes edit. Did somebody lose the master?

why not press the 15-minute mix? that would make this reissue a little more interesting

Buyers beware- this mis printed version: http://www.discogs.com/Loose-Joints-Tell-You-Today/release/2975303 most often comes up for sale on this page, and although stating 'parts 1 & 2' on the B side, it plays the shorter instrumental... So check with the seller before placing your order that it plays the correct (& epic) parts 1&2...

Of course the long version of "Tell You (Today)" is an unquestionable Arthur Russell classic, pure leftfield disco jewel, but in my opinion the 'radio edit' (3'20) is even better, a magnificiently refreshing moment of bouncy, joyful, carefree disco with proper pop hooks and dynamics. The vocals and harmonies are also a little tighter and more together on the single edit, and altogether this is easily one of my favorite 'leftfield pop' tunes in the world, one that can change your mood at every listen. Preciously uplifting.
