I'VE LISTENED TO this album a lot. I've come to realize that I listen to LMC not because I know what to expect but for what I am about to experience. These "latter" works--his fifth full length--are lilting guitar constructions--sparse--and entirely unconventional. There are moments of familiarity where melody and harmony marries into one: the very beautiful "Voice of the Ocean," "Despair Not!" and moments of tonal flux i.e. drone ("The Bridegroom of Snow") - but for most of the 32 minutes, Conners appears to take fragments from possibly hundreds of outtakes and pieces together a composition that resembles a cohesive work. Listen closely and you will hear the phenomenon.

He is joined by his wife Suzanne Langille on the album's opener "Evangeline" which gets reprised at the end and at once ties it all together which has the effect that you've experienced something altogether out of body.
