This post-humous compilation attempts to sum up the 8 year recording history of the band, as seen by complier and band leader, Ryan Lum. Beginning at the end of LSD's career, "Temporal" starts off with 2 previously unreleased club mixes from their final studio album, "Flux," then works it's way back through all their albums, to the very first track released by Love Spirals Downwards (from a various artists compilation). It's interesting to see the progression of the band from an etheral acoustic guitar and vocal based dark folk act to an atmospheric drum n bass one. Another progression this comp traces is the evolving collaboration between lead vocalist, Suzanne Perry, and Lum. Whereas her voice is argubly the focus of earlier material, towards the middle it takes a backseat to programming and production, becoming sample food for Lum's compositions. Containing 6 tracks from comps, eps and live performances, and 7 from albums, this is really an interesting release for both long time fans and new converts.
