Luboš Pospíšil’s third album with the innovated 5P band! The rock songwriter has no reason to change his hitherto successful style. Original melodies for romantic vocals, excellent lyrics from kindred souls, band playmates two and three generation younger, that’s Pospíšil today…

The majority of the songs have been composed by Pospíšil himself, although the pieces by Michal Hrůza and Ondřej Fencl are praiseworthy, too. The authors of the lyrics include such tried-and-tested figures as Pavel Šrut, Jan Sahara Hedl and Pepa Lábus, as well as Tomáš Belka. The only new member of the band is the seasoned guitarist Mirek Linhart, with Martin Štec and Pája Táboříková making up the reliable rhythm section and Fencl taking care of the keyboards and other instruments. The album, exuding gratifying energy, was recorded at Lukáš Martinek’s Svárov studio, in an arrangement with strings, winds and Celtic harp.

From the opening Lilie to the concluding Poslední tango, this is a truly diverse album, featuring splendid ballads, as well as vigorous rock ’n’ roll songs and a minor tribute to Jethro Tull, all of them presented in Pospíšil’s singular way. A dozen unique pieces, including one reminiscence (Už vyplouvám, Karino). At least half of them are now being performed to acclaim by 5P at concerts. Now and then, Luboš Pospíšil’s elegy may be a sigh about lost love, years and opportunities, but he radiates an inner hope that will surely drive away this autumn blues.

Luboš Pospíšil and 5P: Still at the height of his powers!
