Bizarre? Bizarster!
Another strike of the cool plastic genius. Reminds me of Throbbing Pouch (as Wagon Christ) from 1994, updated, remastered, remixed, using more vocal samples and speech recordings (generally 'more message' - correct :-).
Mr. Viberts ability to put together sounds and grooves in a rather artificial way without loosing the basic move and suspense, the rhythm that you nod to, makes him an icon. The tracks here are mostly acid-free, deep grooves and breaks, like on his NUGGETS Lps. Fine sampling, precise, never too much. Samples Phil Collins (on I Can Phil It) in a way you wouldn't have expected and, of course, presents a lot of sample classics in their original context. Last track is an excellent weird Jungle track.
Track C2 of my copy has clicks and needle jumping forward three times. Or is this part of the music? I don't think so. Anyone else noticed that, too?
