"Heresy is the culmination of work carried out from 1987 to 1989 and utilises subterranean location recordings originated within crypts, caverns, mines, deep shelters and catacombs together with material of a seismic and volcanic origin. It also takes advantage of psycho-acoustic phenomena and the physical effects of low frequency information."

An amazingly haunting and suspenseful album, especially for the dark ambient genre.
As the album info states, Heresy contains recordings from subteranean locations along material of seismic and volcanic origin - the tracks sound, indeed, as if underground, creating a sense of forbidden exploration. One is put in the place of a damned wanderer, a person looking for the heart of the world in an ultimately empty and hostile environment.
Heresy Part II is an exceptionally great track, expressing the whole essence of the album - haunted lonliness, vast, hostile expanses and dark introspection.

Lustmord's praise of defining Dark Ambient is well-deserved and the album Heresy is evident of it.
Highly recommended, 5 out of 5.
