I accidentally threw this on at 33rpm. The A side ("Moon Warrior") actually sounds much better pitched down... Could definitely be integrated into a new school breaks set with good results--especially at an early point, to set a dark mood--visions of a bleak futuristic time. The beat reminds me somewhat of Aquasky vs. Masterblaster. The break is great at the slowed down pace. It sounds like something out of a horror movie... doors creaking open, wind swishing from side to side, acidic squelchy sounds. This track draws you into a cough syrup haze, as the beat drags and slides, kicking some solid bass. Quite a surprise.

When played at the correct speed (45rpm), the track sounds a bit cluttered and rushed, but the production is good, and the pace is jammin, making use of quick pauses, and high attack settings on synth pads. Not bad drum and bass, but the track really loses a lot of impact when played at the correct speed--especially in the break, which sounds really cool at 33rpm but just does not do it for ya at 45.

The B-side ("Jynxed") is frantic-paced drum & bass, with a lot of glitchy sounds. Not really my thing, and not exceptional. The beat is well composed though. Keep the B-side at 45rpm.

If you spin dark nu skool breaks and come across this record, pitch down side A to drop your mix into the chasms of the darkside.
