Having already worked with her former duet partner James Ingram, those purveyors of the good groove, the Masters At Work now pair with sweet soul sister Patti Austin on their latest production to be lifted from their 2002 opus ‘Our Time Is Coming’. ‘Like A Butterfly’ is another mid-tempo soul-infused house offering with real bass, piano and guitar musicianship to compliment Austin’s commanding performance – the closing refrain even adds a few choice ad-libs from ‘Razzmatazz’ (the song she made famous all those years ago for Quincy Jones), plus there’s an equally palatable K-Dope Dubb. A class act to follow.
