One of the lps that rocked my high school years, I think it still serves as a reminder of how innovative underground music was in the 80s, Bass Mechanic was and is a very avant garde composition, deftly surpassing many producers works as far as style and delivery goes, and oh yes the boom, its all about that thumpin house shakin' bass! I remember thinking back then when it was a new joint : "wow they made dogs barking sound cool ", and it still puzzles me, but yes they yep make dogs barking sound cool. Worth Noting that in the early years of electro bass music, sometimes singles predated the lp, or were released simultaneously separately, often bonus tracks were quickly conceived to "round up" a full album , so note many a bass record have the feeling of being a compilation of hits.

A could-have-been classic LP! Most consumers were upset that the bonus/instrumental versions of "Bass Rock Express," "Bass mechanic" and "Nightmare on A.D.E. Street" were put on here instead of the vocal versions. Those were the songs that put A.D.E. on the map and when the non-DJs went to the store and picked up the LP or cassette, they were robbed of what they were looking for.

In all honesty, "Shake-A-Lot," "Romantic Rhyme" and "I Don't Care" were garbage tracks and could have been 86'd from the album. The valuable and limted space taken by these songs could have been better served by adding the above-mentioned classics.

Of the new tracks (at the time), "Rockin' All Over," "Party" and "D.J. Eddie B." were on point and certified Florida bangers. In fact, "Rockin' All Over" was a favorite for the boys who had the 12"s and Peavy horns in their cars. The intro to that song could be heard from blocks away from both a HIGHS and LOWS perspective!

I give it 4/5 LEDs.
