All songs are in a continuous sequence with the exception of the dub versions.
The music on this Compact Disc was originally recorded on analog equipment. We have attempted to preserve, as closely as possible, the sound of the original recording. Because of it's high resolution, however, the Compact Disc can reveal limitations of the source tape.

Once upon a time, the combination of Madonna and a superbly produced dance record was considered an undeniably innovative moment in electronic music. When she was truely inspired, she was an indestructable force that could leave every other artist for dead. It's probably difficult to see now, but she dominated the mid-80s with her music, not with her reputation. During that time, she released some electrifying cuts that, surprisingly, still hold up quite well today. 'You Can Dance' compiles all these tracks, essentially a pre-Immaculate Collection type compilation that features her best dance tracks from 1982-87, albeit many in remixed versions. This record sees Madonna shining on every track, including her legendary first single 'Everybody', the inspiring 'Spotlight', not to mention her 80's superhits 'Into The Groove' and 'Holiday', all conveniently DJ-mixed on a single disc.
