While the song writing on MS's debut is average to good, the lyrics strive for more and there is a good bit of humor.

Unfortunately, this is one of the worst sounding recordings to ever make it to vinyl. The overall volume is so low that even if you BLAST your stereo it sounds like an old man farting in a tub.

I dearly, dearly love Maggot Sandwich and so have listened to this record many times (volume cranked, ear to speaker). If you are not a MS fanatic such as myself, "Dead To My World" probably will not win you over.

It is not their best effort, but keep in mind that it is their FIRST effort and you gotta start somewhere.

To their credit, Maggot Sandwich greatly improved by their next record, "Suckcess Pool" and then improved even more for their LP "Get Off The Stage." And is that not what a band is supposed to do -- get BETTER with each release?

As an historical note, this is the ONLY Maggot Sandwich record featuring original singer Buzz Zerk.
