Not the worst project, but not a masterpiece to pay such money. Obviously, this is an artificially inflated price. The real price for this recorded material quality is 10 - 15 $. Not more.

austromann, this is nothing but a very simple speculation. It is very uncommon to destroy records of a small edition like magic mail certainly was. If a record doesn't sell well it will be send out as promotion for free or sold at a loss. Only large amounts of overproduced records (many thousands or ten thousands)get destroyed because the companies do not want to pay royalties to the artist for large quantities which won't sell.
This is the same case as with Mascara - See You In L.A. Or Empire - First Album, if you find one of these records then it is certainly an old promo copy or has a price sticker with a very low price on it.

This masterpiece is one of the best and most obscure disco record i heard.

Only 800 copies were pressed, but due to the lack of sales unfortunately at least 600 copies were destroyed back then.

Probably only 100 - 150 copies are existing nowadays.
