"Music to Moog By" is the first solo album written and recorded by Gershon Kingsley in 1969. It was recorded at Audio Fidelity Records. The album contains the original composition "Pop Corn", which became an international hit when covered by Hot Butter in 1972.

So, once again - Gershon Kingsley is the original author of that melody and nobody else!

Hot Butter is the originally artist who record this "Popcorn" song first, It was a huge international hit & even made the Billboard Top 10 pop charts here in USA. I have the original 7" record today still. It was very ahead of its time, A synth pop record in 1972! There was nothing really being released like this record, at that time. Giorgio Moroder also was a synth pop pioneer, he had a European hit with his excellent "Son Of My Father". Also a number one UK hit for Chicory Tip in 1971. There a been many cover versions of this "Popcorn" song, This Magic Men version is quite good too.

Very nice cover-artwork. But the track - although very well known in "the scene" - somehow never really "got me". Lucky me - one expensive record less to buy!! ;)

- If you first time heard Pop Corn on Digger game, this release is for you.
- If you think that Pop Corn originally belongs to Hot Butter from 1972, you are very wrong and you don't deserve to own this excellent record.

4.2/5 but will give it 5
