Malcom Catto is THE drummer most associated with the recent rise of neo-soul/funk that's been hitting the music scene since the late 1990s. His solo work and his solid contributions to various hard funk-related projects make him one of the most sought after drummers in the game today. He has since gained quite a decent amount of fame in the independent/underground hip-hop community by working with the likes of Madlib, MRR-ADM, and DJ Shadow.

This LP is a drum only version of his debut album Popcorn Bubblefish on Mo' Wax. Can you say drum orgy? Side A is filled with 41 short breaks all complete with intros, fills, and breakdowns all in the unmistakable Catto style. Tons of 4 and 8 bar breaks to get the producers jiggy.

Side B is comprised of all the drum tracks used for his debut. If you heard the album, listening to these stripped down drum versions truly display Catto's genius. Pretty tough to find these days and very pricey!!
