Early use of the Roland TB-303 bassline on an electro rap record. Doesn't evolve and squelch as such, but is definitely evident. Not the first instance of one featured in old school electro/hip hop. Of course, there are possible first claims stemming from as far back as 1984 with Newcleus's 'Jam On It' (NYC) or Chris 'The Glove' Taylor's 'Reckless' (LA), or from the same year L.A. Dream Team - Rockerry Jam (1985), possibly others. This one came out just about when acieeed house from Chicago was being invented. Complete with funky and raw as hell Roland TR-909 beats.

This is the tune that got me into hiphop while living in the uk along with Eric b + Rakim Paid in full. Before this came out i was into stuff like Gary Numan and 2tone ska but this just blew me away it was just so raw to me back then and still is now.
