Wow B1 Ultraviolet Images certainly hits the spot... That pulsating bass line... The undulating rhythmical structures... The ambient type strings!...
Another reason why in 2016 I am getting back into my Techno from another world called the 90s... Magic!

Update in 2018

Those bass pulses are so reminiscent of The Final Frontier... And that's not a problem! Drexicya= Deep Underwater music. The Martian= Deep space music... Stating the obvious? Maybe but so what! C'mon lets groove! ;)

I think I'm crazy....but I LOVE "Sex in Zero Gravity" when played at 33rpm pitched waaay up (or 45rpm pitched waaaay down). I feel like it is a smoother, slower song with nice smooth grooves.

I have one with the reversed labels, I think. Btw, "Firekeeper" was the very first techno track I listened to when I stepped into to field as a teenager... Memories.

Interesting how back in the mid to late 90's, in London at least, the Red Planet series held huge esteem if ever seen in the second hand shops for all who missed them on the shelves 1st time around. Already a grail for any intelligent box. Cue >>>> some 20 years later & it seems, with a worldwide combined market place such as here, this is readily available at a low price. Rather than discuss trends & waves in music & popularity, I'd just like to say- grab one. Every track on here will hit you harder every time you here it- the true definition of a classic.

For me and this record, it is all about Ultraviolet Images. You will not hear ANYTHING like this anywhere else. Powerful sounds from Detroit, over 20 years ago (wow). SIZG is a great track, very warm and influenced by Mike's southern and Native American roots it seems. But for me Ultraviolet Images, with its epic wall of sound, is an essential, defining UR/Red Planet track.

This track is one of the best Detroit records ever. A very nice combination of techno soul, acid and techno. Mad Mike is so talented, a pure musician. The mixing of Mr. Fowlkes is briljant! Even this days you can play this track at a good techno party, but watch out, people can be go crazy...

Why has no one posted for this release!!!

Sex in zero gravity is a beautiful builder, very lush sounding and interesting to note how the red planet style varies as the collaborator changes... Eddie Fowlkes' contribution adds a different touch to awonderful series of recordings....
