"In Our Lifetime" is a fantastic showcase of Marvin's Disco Soul strut. The lyrics and narrative have timeless relevance. I have this album on regular rotation and while there are some low points, overall I feel it really embodies the goodness of Marvin's later work. Standouts include: Love Party, Praise, Heavy Love Affair, Life is for Learning. 4 stars.

He tried, and tried but "In Our Lifetime" failed miserbly!! Not to say that it was a complete failure, but it proved that everything that Marvin was going through was taking its toll on him. I mean he really was starting to lose his mind, going and doing things we never thought he would do. Because of these things, the music here suffers, bad! "Ego Tripping Out" and "Praise" are cool, but there's no story here, it really just mumble jumble. He would recover, but even that was short lived. So so sad!!!!
