Now THIS is what I call a B-side leading its own life! The record company favoured "Don't Blame It On That Girl" but it was the B-side "Wap Bam Boogie" that received more airplay and definitely more club play during the Summer of 1988! I was with my parents in the car on our way from the rainy Netherlands to sunny Italy, and in our country, Germany, Austria and Italy, this track was on the radio! I think it was also caused by the immense success of Mark Moore's "Theme From S-Express" which has a similar feel. Definitely one of those tracks that laid down the carpet of house (okay, you may regard it as a bit "lite" form of house, just as The Bee Gees made a "lite" form of disco).

I remember buying the album "Indigo" on CD just for this track alone, because it featured the full 7:29 version of it (and yes, it also featured the 12 inch version of DBIOTG as a bonus). I did not even realise then that this music was called house! Man I hated those later recordings (Stakker Humanoid and alike), not knowing that it was only a subgenre named "acid house"... I guess it must have been those live instruments that triggered my attention...

Nearly 30 years later, the track still sounds fresh and I still treasure it.
