The Mavenalli Project's BLIND SCIENCE starts off with "Espresso 4," a mellow slice of jazz-house that wouldn't be out of place on any of the Hotel Costes compilations. The mellowness continues through the rest of the album as well, even as "Blow My Horn" has a deeper beat and a digitized voice. "4 Tune 5" has a light Latin flavor, but "One" goes right into jazzy deepness. "Flowers in the Rain" starts off with a sample string loop but quickens into a right stomp, while "Empty My Sax" continues in the house vein, slightly slower. "Rear View" takes the album down to a chill level. Toko Records is certainly missed to this day!
