His tuxedo fits perfectly, his hair glossy, a cheeky glance and Max Raabe dishes up the hits of the 20s and 30s with cheerful melancholy. In 1986 he founded the Palast Orchester with a few fellow students. After sold-out concert tours throughout Germany, Switzerland and Austria, Raabe's baritone could be heard over the past few years on the most famous stages of the world, in New York, Rome, Moskow or Paris. With an elegant sense of self-irony he presents his audience with the musical creme de la creme of the Weimar Republic, but also with international pieces: Cuban rumbas, English language hits, hits which the renowned orchestras of the day had in their repertoires. Pieces such as "Dein ist mein games Herz (My Heart Belongs Only To You)” or the tango "Schöner Gigolo (Just A Gigolo)" as well as classic hits by great American composers can he enjoyed on this recording. Max Raabe's art is just boundless.
