One year after the controversial All The Witches Dance artwork, this bootleg live album is released, bearing a photograph of Mayhem's singer, Dead (Per Yngve Ohlin), after his suicide in April 1991. The photograph was taken by Mayhem's guitarist, Euronymous (Øystein Aarseth), when he discovered the body.
Dead slashed the veins in his arms and neck after leaving behind a song lyric titled "Life Eternal", along with a suicide note. He then took Euronymous' shotgun and shot himself in the forehead.
Euronymous took bits of Dead's skull and made them into necklaces for members of the black metal scene, including the band's drummer Hellhammer. In disgust with Euronymous' actions, the bass player Necrobutcher left the band and was replaced by Burzum's Varg Vikernes, who murdered Euronymous two years later.

I have the splatter version of this release from Reek of Death, everyone this is not a multi-hundred dollar album. It gets repressed every few years, sometimes few months. It is a horrible recording and a novelty "kvlt" item. Be patient and keep on a lookout for when reissues of this go up and buy it for retail. There is no reason a 2020 reissue of this is selling for $250 lol. Please don't waste your money you don't need to pay this much for this album.

Front cover image is really poor quality (Pixelated) probably an upscaled image. Rear image is ok quality. Vinyl itself is of good quality (for a live performance bootleg), colour is "dark brown" damn near black but has a nice purple colour in the light.
Definitely worth getting as a novelty collectors item!

i have a pressing that looks exactly like this except its on red vinyl and all the lettering on the sleeve that are purple on this pressing are red instead. I can't seem to find anything about it online. does anyone know anything about it?

I've got something similar to this version - but not made in Mexico. Also the title is more black. Runout says "Dawn Of Black Hearts". Every other picture is 99% the same; who knows what version I have? Couldnt find it here on Discogs..
