Excellent! I just wish they'd finally release this album on CD. Everything else by Meco is on CD.

After doing a fantastic job covering the first Star Wars movie soundtrack in disco fashion, Meco decides to try his hand covering a few tracks from The Empire Strikes Back. The EP doesn't fare as well as Star Wars & Other Galactic Funk, but is still pretty decent. Darth Vader / Yoda's Theme is an EXCELLENT medley track, right up there with some of Meco's best tunes. But the other three tunes fall a tad flat. The Battle In The Snow lacks substance, The Force Theme is good featuring some nice trumpets but sounds a bit more rock-like than straight-up disco, something similar to maybe Chicago. And The Asteroid Field / Finale simply doesn't work on the dance floor, featuring an ending that sounds almost as if it was ripped from the movie itself.

Don't hesitate to buy this though for Darth Vader / Yoda's Theme makes this worthwhile for sure, but the other three tracks aren't that great. For Meco's best work, I would check out Star Wars & Other Galactic Funk, as well as the Wizard of Oz and Ewok Celebration.
