The first release on ITP records and by far the best. Released just as British Techno was looking beyond the dance, this EP was every bit as forward thinking as Global Communication, Black Dog or Autechre in 1994. "Mondo" is an intense skittering breakbeat journey that provides an unsettling anticipation through out it's course as the keyboards weave a trance like spell. " Orion" is the EPs most straight forward track, but still far from fomulaic.
The last track " Acid Frog " is pure genius. The title is a play on Laurent Garniers "Acid Eiffel" , Memory Machines ( french ) abandon the Chicago house template in favour of a pounding 5/4 drum break, a massive Juno 60 acid line and some beautiful keyboard work which combine to create an exotic epic with an almost North African feel.
