Master of Puppets is hands down the most important metal album of the 80s. It helped transition Metallica from underground heroes to world giants, but also brought Thrash Metal to the mainstream with it.

Absolutely amazing press. I got this for a steal too.

3,247 people do NOT have this particular pressing. I really wish more people were reliable.

There's so many different pressings for this album can somebody given me the skinny on what the worthwhile ones are to go for, preferably vinyl but CD too?

Can anyone help me out? I have an early pressing with this runout:
STE-60439-A-DMM-1 SP0-2 Sterling Sound - Dmm-1 ED M1 SF1 SM5

I don't know if I'm missing something but when I get time I'm gonna make a new entry.

I'm hoping someone sells a nice copy for less than $100+..
I was looking at the Blackened press but apparently it sucks so I'm not gonna play with fire.

Same here, we got the blackenedRecs versions this week at our store & they sound so damn lame compared to the original USelektra & the UKmusicfornations version.
Check out the 2x45rpm UK 80s versions of the first 3 albums ( maybe the best sounding versions ever!!! )
Because i work as a matering engineer for different labels here in switzerland i ocasionaly do some transfers & restaurations for clients from Vinyl to Digital and therefor i'm lucky to randomly have access to different pressings from around the world. So yes, i dont have a clue what the hell went wrong with the repressing or the qualitycheck for these blackenedRecs versions. cheers, rob
