Incredible pressing, excellent album! Love every Metallica album from the 80s, and I feel this was their last greatest musical statement before they cut their hairs and became musical errands. Happy to add this to my collection.
Late 1991: REM 'Out of Time', RHCP 'Blood Sugar Sex Magik', Metallica 'Black Album' and Nirvana 'Nevermind'. I spent two months in Baltimore at the time, and those four albums take me there and then! This music was all over the place, and MTV was playing their video clips 24/7.

Quality and clean pressing, superb range of highs and lows if your system can bring them out, no complaints.. no pops, no skips, money well spent!

So this is one of those pressings that is like a lottery. You might get this version (potential pressing quality control issues), or this version: (different pressing, doesn't have people complaining). For those that say it's your bad setup/equipment, sorry you are mistaken. I have played this version on 2 different tables/cartridges and it skips in the same spots everytime. I dont have a single other LP that skips like this. Regretfully this version and the other version there is no way to tell which you get until you open it since nothing on the outside is different. Other than that it sounded pretty good, the other pressing mentioned above is superior in quality and sounded the same as this version.

My pressing sounds great and well worth the purchase compared to the 45 RPM price.

What a piece of F'ing crap.
The Blackened Recordings sounds like sh*t. Dog sh*t.
It's not even a skip, it's the recording itself that is chopped up.
But it happens on EVERY song.
The audio sounds like my old Kraco 6x9's in my Pinto.
Are you kidding me? Every other album in my collection (1000 albums) sounds killer on my system.

This sounds like SH*T. Period.

I have the version of this with the download code, which is listed separately on here. Aside from the download is that version any different? They seem to be indistinguishable otherwise; the download card wasn't even advertised on the shrink wrap.

Yes, this is a great sounding version. So much power behind the drums and you could clearly hear the bass + guitars, vocals are prestine.

This album sounds great! such an energetic and powerful bass, the sound alone is worth the money, I have not heard the other versions, but if you have the opportunity to buy this version, then do it, you will not regret it.

This pressing is INCREDIBLE sounding. But a major reason why this album sounds so good is of course the pressing, but Bob Rock (love him or hate him) produced the S**T out of this album and Randy Staub put on a clinic as to how you should engineer an album.

OH YES!! If you've never heard this on vinyl & through a decent system with good bass you don't know what you're missing buy this don't even think do it!
