Michael Fakesch's second album, the appropriately titled DOS, moves further away from his Funkstorung project and more towards electro with the dirty funk of "Escalate" and the thick bass of "Soda." But fear not, he hasn't entirely left his IDM leanings; they're just now integrated into his new interests, whether the scat of "Travel" or the wobble-soul of "I Want It" or the beatboxing on "Give It To Me." The angular melodies of 'Wire" give it a more dirge-like feel, whereas "Miko" goes for twisted R&B. The breaks come down a little harder on "Left," but "Channel" ends the album light on its feel. A nice change of direction for Mr. Fakesch.
