Like so many American boys dreamed the tree long Michael Franti to professional basketball player in the NBA. When this did not had managed, he started in 1990 with a friend the rap duo Disposable Heroes Of Hiphoprisy. After one successful album was the cake, however, already on the group founded in 1994, Franti and Spearhead on. With this group he knows the perfect mixture between rap and hip hop and, on the other hand, the funk and soul music from the 1970s. The new album Everyone Deserves Music is on two ways a logical successor to the beautiful Stay Human (2001). To begin with, there is the musical not changed much and secondly are the texts of Franti once again full of political (read: anti-Bush) messages. Remarkably successful guest appearances there of the legendary reggae producers Sly & Robbie and of the European party band Sergent Garcia. The result is a warm-blooded, soulful and funky party plate in which the listener again multiple layers might discover.
