This album proved that MJ was NOT Invincible! The 2001 production aesthetic did not suit MJ's voice nor style. Would have been nice if MJ made a "retro" album at this point in his career, instead of trying to appeal to such a young audience.

I liked this album very much when it was released. A lot of people and press were talking bad about Jackson at the time, so it wasn't a smashing hit. Also this album is unlike Jackson's normal style of music. It has a lot of outside influence and variation between tracks. Jackson didn't go crazy on this record with his ego problems. Good music and lots of tracks. All well done and it's not pompous like the 1995 History album was. This is the only record from Michael that I ever bought! I liked History too as it had many of the old hits and the B-side was okey even if pompous and bizarre at times. I wasn't that familiar with Jackson at the time so it gave me lot. Never listened to the earlier albums but I heard a lot of tracks on radio and such. Thank you Michael for this last album. I wish you could have done and released many new ones and I believe you could have done so, but probably you held the bar impossibly high, so you could not get anything finished. 4.5/5
