My copy has a tremendous pressing mistake. In the first track there is a skip of a few seconds. I don't know if anybody else has had the same problem with this edition.

Bit of a disappointment after the three NEU! albums but still a very listenable album. Needed Klaus Dinger on the drums - Jaki Leibezeit is a great drummer obviously but he's lacking on this - the production is a bit limp too (sorry Conny - knocking all my heroes at once - oh well). Listen to the drumming on Zyklodrom, especially the beginning of the track - it's very thin. Actually it does get better towards the end of the piece.... so it's a builder I guess. I realise it was a film soundtrack - maybe that's part of the problem with the album - the sound seems compromised to me.
On the other hand quite a lot of classic kosmische records have a slightly flat production - especially the mid-period Cluster albums say - so maybe it's part of the vibe and my ears are at fault.
Every few years I dig this one out to play again but I'm always a bit disappointed.

Two different pressings of this first edition exist: One with a laminated cover, a green-blueish backcover-photo and a thicker, slightly more dynamic sounding record. The other one has no lamination, the backcover-photo is near colourless, the record itself is fairly thin. Etchings are the same (SKY - 007 A / SKY - 007 BPF).

I bought this CD in a store where it was laying among tons of sonic junk in the low-low-low-price section, after looking for it for years (I had the LP version as one of my collection's jewel). Even in Germany when I asked in some record shops all I got was a "Michael who?". It raises several questions like what the hell is going on in the music industry, or do we just deserve what the bigs in show biz want us to buy?
In this particular CD the two extra versions of Flammende Herzen are welcome, very fresh and inspiring.
