This album just blew my mind... happened upon it, glad I took a chance. I've never heard a violin sounds like this!

Interesting that the £ seem to be geared toward Funk Factory. Hmmm....slightly misplaced in my humble opinion. Atma is a gem, really, a gem. It'll be one of the best affordable albums you buy. And with no disrespect to Expansive09's review, they ain't no fusion on Atma, or maybe just a tiny wee bit tucked off in the corner. The track Rien Ne Va Plus on Funk Factory has people wetting their knickers. Check the B side on Atma - deeper, funkier, weirder and hip hop 'eds will delight in the dirtiness of the title track. Don't listen to me, just spend a tenner and listen to this.

Mind blowing technical Polish jazz wrapped in a 1970s plaid suite fitted to tailored perfection.
There's absolutely zero dull moments on this release which showcases the amazing talents of Urbaniak's lightning like electric violin and Wojciech's take no prisoner comping on Mini-Moog and Rhodes. The compositions are melodic, intricate as a fine berber rug with dynamics ranging from +1 to quiet interludes to please the most upper crust fusion-head. Urzula vocals at times are reminiscent of early 70s era Flora Purim(just listen to her experimentation with the tape echo!
) which I imagine she probably takes her cue from.
If you love the classic sounds of phased violin, Mini Moog and tight bass and drum accompaniment in your jazz fusion cocktail order this one next time your at the jazz listening bar you wont be disappointed!!
