Was a Huge Fan of Micky in his earlier years which he nails in this EP. A "Must Have" for the Hardcore Collector.

I arrived in the UK IN 89, so missed the House scene completely when Rave was heading into Hardcore/ Hard techno & I think in 91 I heard this Micky Finn geeza on a Pirate station when I was livin in Portsmouth at the time . . . . . This sound was different! even Fabio & Grooverider were doin somethin new around that time too!! It's 2017 & my hunch was right!! Legends to the scene \0

I'm going to review this version rather than the blue/green label version although the tracks are exactly the same. In my opinion this was a truly great release. It brought together elements of hardcore, breakbeat, and some extremely good songwriting. Emotive and soulful, in my opinion Mickey was really starting to hit his stride with this release. Both tracks are instantly recognisable to anyone who was around back in 93' and I am hard pressed to say which is my favourite. This is in no way just an early Jungle/D & B offering. Influential? Definitely. Essential? Absolutely. You can still get the blue/green label version easily enough, but this test pressing is becoming quite hard to find in a decent condition. Mickey certainly cemented his reputation with me with this release. Growing up around Woolwich, Mick was well known to me and I had quite a few of his mix tapes when this came out. Honestly, you could never buy a better D&B 12. This release for me was the start of intelligent D&B. Two quality tracks that should grace anyone's collection.

Bizarre how this track is so cheap on here - although Micky Finn has got a bit of a chequered musical history (IMO) the title track here is really beautiful and has a Spiritual Aura feeling but with its own unique uplifting sound. Very nice indeed and always makes me happy when I hear it.
