Superb follow up to the first edition of My Life, smooth house grooves with deep techno undertones.

The layout on the sample cd is superb and a must have for any producer! Veteran or beginner!

The first edition of My Life With The Wave was a prime example of how to create a theme centered around a synthesizer by giving it the 313 treatment with a proper dose of deepness. It set an example in terms of programing the flagship Waldorf synth or any synth in that matter. He did not let the Wave prevail over the record but gave the Wave an unique sound and thereby created a distinct palette of colors that tie the record together and proof what Mike truly is capable of. Strong dance floor tracks while also highly enjoyable using headphones at home. The accompanied sampling CD further proofed Huckabys ways around the Wave and set example at how to master a synth. The productions that came out of this sampling CD are countless and feature some of the most respected house and techno producers we know today. Thus, the expectations for a sequel to this monument were set pretty high to say the least.
To make a long story short: I am disappointed. The record sounds rushed and does not articulate what i think Mike is capable of. 9 Years is a long time to come up with a new theme for the Wave, but I only see lukewarm stabby house sketches. I won't discuss the contents of the sampling CD but it is far more enjoyable than the tracks on the 12".
