GULITY is not a live version, it is a studio version.

AIRBORN is something special for Oldfield Collectors. "TUBULAR BELLS PART I" and "INCANTATIONS" are not the same recordings as released on "EXPOSED". "TUBULAR BELLS PART I" was recorded 06.05.1979 in Birmingham [National Exhibition Center] and is the only show from this tour with a Master of Ceremonies, the actor John Gorman. "INCANTATIONS" is a fascinating combination of the EXPOSED live and the studio recording, ending with the End-section of "TUBULAR BELLS PART II". GUILTY is played faster than the track on EXPOSED, recorded from an unknown location. Hope this helps…

I always thought Guilty should have been on Platinum. Woodhenge is pretty minimal and does not fit in with the other tracks.

I first came across this album while stationed in Iceland in 1980, loved it and lost it a few years later. I have searched for it for decades, even in Portsmouth England, headquarters of Virgin Records, who said they had never heard of it. So refreshing to find I've not lost my mind, and that this magical musical interlude does exist. If you've never heard the twenty plus minute LIVE version of Tubular Bells, you have indeed missed out. Don't die without doing so. I am anxious to have a copy of this treasure again on cd or vinyl.

'Airborn' was the US/Canada release of 'Platinum'. As with various other stateside releases by various UK artists in past years, the featured tracks were changed slightly, and a second LP was included featuring a very strange live/studio remix of Tubular Bells and Incantations.
The tracks 'Sally' and 'Woodhenge' were replaced with 'Guilty' and 'into Wonderland'.

The second LP remixes could be described as a bodge, featuring several minutes alternating studio and live segments, cutting at appropriate pauses.

The release was in a single sleeve, with unique artwork, featuring the tubular bells, somewhat warped and rearranged, over a semi-sci-fi landscape. Probably an interesting find for Oldfield completists, due to the second LP, but otherwise not particularly important.
