Excellent quality pressing. Makes me wonder why I'd even bother with an original US...

I don't think this album originally slipped between the cracks. Superb as it is. It was simply not 'mainstream' enough to garner any attention outside Soul/Funk circles at the time. 'Keep it up' has been popular in the right places from it's release and not just simply a discovery in the revival era. Once this kind of music was given a marketing term of 'rare groove' which was born out of the London's 80's funk scene, then this and similar 'underground' records really took off. Keep it up is one of the most celebrated, over played but down right infectious rhythm tracks of the revival era.

And only 500 pressed. This being the original
Versions and on limited press, the penny will drop one day and the price will rocket. Quality Lp sound is excellent.

If you're like me a soul connoisseur, this album from the left field must be a blessing. After a lifetime of listening to soul/funk/jazz, i hold this at the highest point regarding new and innovating soul sound from the seventies (this decade was infested with quality soul music). This album (the first press) is one of the all time miss regarding promotion!

Friends & Buddies are one album that i hold next to MARVIN GAYE and his landmark album "What's Going On"!

Badass Modern Soul Classic! Not as expensive as his second one but the 1st press with "Keep It Up" on it has more or less a constant price for the last 20 years now

Anyways, every tune of this record is a gem with such standout tunes like "Keep It Up" or "Brothers and Sisters".

Top notch mixing and mastering. Awesome sound. Not your usual crossover record.

Great re-release done with much love, but why was the track listing altered from the initial release of the first version mix (http://www.discogs.com/Milton-Wright-Friends-And-Buddies/release/2666795)?

Lost classics sometimes don't deliver the goods, believe me this does.
How did an album this good slip between the cracks?
First impressions throw up the name Stevie Wonder and then The Isley Brothers with the social comment of Marvin Gaye.
By the end of the album all you will think of is Milton Wright.
His talent stands to comparison with those Giants.
I prefer the original recorded version (tracks 1-8).
The pure soul of those versions stands out for me.
This is a five star album that deserves to be heard.
