Well I placed an order for the Earache 2018 reissue hoping it'll sound nice on my system. I am a little sceptacle about how it will sound after doing some digging. I always found the album to be the best produced Misfits album, however it always lacked full clarity and punch, the volume has always been a little off and I fear this may still be an issue with the coming reissue. After checking various misfits discographies, it seems the album was originally mastered in 1982 for the three or four times it was originally pressed in 1982. By 1988, CD had come along, so it was time for a reissue and with the reissue another mastering (one of the Misfit sites seems to confirm this with acetates cut by Bernie Grundman Mastering in the summer of '88) for CD. This would be the master being used for the Earache pressing. Earache has images of one of the tape boxes on their site, the label reads Bernie Grundman Mastering 7/29/88. It states it is not an original master (a remaster for CD?) but includes Dolby noise reduction (could this be why the volume takes a hit) "equalization, limiting, etc. used in disc production". The generation notes on the box confirm it is not an "original master" nor a "1:1 master". I know there are many things that can effect the final product from tape to vinyl, but I have a feeling this still won't be the true reissue of the original album some (myself) are hoping for. We shall see. I guess I'll be the Guinea Pig.

I honestly cannot stand misprints on albums and there are a lot on this album
