Sounds amazing! Clean flat pressing. Dynamic with a nice sound stage. It has a full, warm and rich sound. This one was done right! Mine is MOV 000464.

Great pressing, however on my copy I hear a pop at the beginning of Party Weirdo and a couple on Ho Humm. Both discs are not completely flat. There's a wave on sides A and C.
Anyone else experiences this?

Released after "Fun for Me" was featured in the movie Batman & Robin and as part of the electronica hype of the late 90s, Moloko's Do You Like My Tight Sweater? was the only album the group put out in America in an abolished "US invasion." (Well until the 2006 greatest hits album Catalogue, which I do not know how got a US release, because aside from the songs on this album and "Sing it Back," the only other song by them that was released in the US was "Indigo," and that's because it was part of the Mystery Men soundtrack.) The only two singles released from this album were "Fun for Me" in 1997 and "Day for Night" in 1998 (albeit not the original but the elusive Blakdoktor Afterglow Mix, which only charted at #37 on the Hot Dance Club Play, thus ending Moloko's mediocre at best US invasion.)

The album, in addition to songs like "Lotus Eaters," "Dominoid," and "Party Weirdo," features short songs like "Tight Sweater" and "On My Horsey," in addition to the last track ("Who Shot the Go-Go Dancer?") being almost 6 minutes of silence until the very end, when Roisin starts singing again. (Was it meant to be a hidden track of sorts?) The standard songs seem to tell some sort of story in my eyes. "Fun for Me," a pisstake of psychoanalysis, is about a woman who dreams strange things a lot and enjoys it, while "Day for Night" is about that same woman when she's not dreaming: apparently stalking a guy she likes and acting impulsively strange towards him. "I Can't Help Myself" is exactly what it says on the tin, and "Party Weirdo" reveals she's socially awkward. Even the short songs relate somewhat to the overall 'plot,' like for example "Tight Sweater" shows us she wears a tight sweater and could be directed to the guy she likes in the next track, "Day for Night." We could go a step further and connect Moloko's other US releases to this story, like "Sing it Back" being about the woman finally winning over her man and acting as if she's a slave to him, and "Indigo" being about, well... the woman expressing her mental instability in musical form. This woman could be Roisin Murphy herself for all we know, but Roisin seems so much different than who she's writing about in her songs.

I have to admit, I've taken my music career in a direction similar to early Moloko, because their music is awesome and proves it's okay to be weird. Thank you Batman for introducing me to such a wonderful group when I was 12 years old, even if I largely forgot about them at best until I was 16 and discovered their other songs. Zing zang zoom, fun for me.
