If stomping, cut-up, heavily bass reliant techno is thing you like dropping in your sets or busting a hip to, then you should look no further than Monokilla’s irresistible groover. Not as brainlessly hard and distorted as modern schranz, it maintains a more polished and linear in sound structure. Very dry and not overly complex to toy around with. With chopped vocals, effective breaks followed by outpours of militant sonic vehemence, very tight and linear flow, and plenty of space left for DJs to display their tricks and creative mixing techniques, for hard techno heads tools don’t come much better than this.
Not much diversity, but then again this 12” is seriously not supposed to sound like an acoustic discovery of tap water, but for those who enjoyed the heavy Chicago sound brought by DJ Rush or Mike Dearborn, or the more upbeat stuff mixed by Ben Sims, this is where it’s at. Play it loud with the bass up.
