Agree with and if anyone deserves to cash in on his amazing talents its Mr. Fingers himself...
This is a beautifully crafted remix and I would even say that Larry felt a real connection with this work. It's one of those tracks that has your attention from the first bars. It ebbs and flows majestically, the vocal is a reality check and conscious social commentary. A truly sad but also uplifting mix, a beautiful gift from Mr. Heard to the deephouse faithful. Sublime.

The Larry Heard After Dark Mix is a beautiful piece of, well, moody deep-house, and considering its 'social' vocal content (courtesy of Gil Scott-Heron) and super poignant piano + strings sequence starting at 2:30 ; can be perceived as a manifesto of dancefloor sadness, not avoiding the outside world's ruffness but subliming it, like a lot of grandiose soul, funk, disco and early house songs used to do until the early-mid 90's (a tradition that has been quite abandonned since then though). Emotion here is not evasive or allusive but plain moody and heart-rending, and one can abandon itself dancing to it, yet still feel the introspective, reflective vibe of the song.
A tune to manipulate with delicacy then, but very enlightening and rewarding if used properly.
