Why is "Downtown" not on wax? Really nice track, timeless. Reminds me about Black Mahogani.

I swear I've heard those strings in 'Deeper Shadow' somewhere else and they're sampled from a fairly known song, but I can't just recall at this moment. Captain, help!

A lot of records don’t live up to the hype.... but.... this is Moodymann. A special record that doesn’t fail in any department. House heaven.

Wow, this is really fantastic.
For me 'I'll Provide' is the 'weakest track', if you can call it a weak track.
The rest is straight deep/funk/house/soul perfection.
That slow burners on side D are really something else.

I picked up a copy at the 2019 Movement festival (KDJ had a booth there but he was nowhere around ... he was playing at an event opposite of and in competition with Movement though ... always the iconoclast). Picked up this and the eponymous "Moodymann" LP. This sounds like Kenny's been listening to a lot of Prince, and it sounds great. Deep funk and beats ... worth picking up. And the pressing is clean and flat ... well done all around.

Wow, I copped this from the Mahogani booth at Movement last week for $20. Didn't even know it was a brand new Moody! This release is as funky as it is cocky. Extreme dopeness. I really should have got 2 copies or rather 10 copies if people really trynna pay $200 for this.. Curious to see what the first sale price will be.

The D2 alone is well worth the time and energy spent traveling to Brightmoor to obtain a copy. In the words of KDJ, it ain't about the damn record collection, this is more soulful black house music from KDJ Records "reflective of an environment.."
