Morgan Geist was definitely ahead of his time on this one. I remember him being an, how shall I put it: "regular" contributor to the Detroit techno mailing list "back in the day", and I always wondered if he had any life outside of techno.

The answer came in the form of this record: it was almost too studied (and the product of someone with some real musical training) for me as a 21 year old, now as a 30 year old I have come to appreciate its brilliance... to wit, you have to devote your life to this in order to produce work of this quality. For those familiar with Dan Curtin's work during the same period, it is similar, but different.

Now, did this ever appear on a CD compilation anywhere?

This record is a stone-cold classic! Nice driving strings and wonky sub bass make it super funky and cool! The Dan Curtin remix is a welcome addition as well...
