Notes

1st issue, with "Freak Out - Hot Spots" map/poster offer printed on the right-hand inside of the gatefold jacket.

The map was not produced until at least Dec 1966, thus not available until that date (and would have been retrospectively added by the album's owner.) FZ's signature can be seen on the montage, bottom right, as "FVZ 12/66".

"Tableaus" appears as part of the song title on the label for the track on Side D, "Tableaux" appears as part of the song title for the track on the inside of the gatefold.

Here's an interesting runout variation. Side 1 has V5005-2 (SE 4392-2 crossed out) with everything else checking out as per this listing, side 2: V6-5005-2 side 2, etc. Label: V6/5005-2 Frank Zappa 3 lines and hot spots promo. No Sunset Blvd on label.

For those friends of Zappa who don't know the record: Record 1 is a more or less rocksong album (like Relics of Pink Floyd). Lyrics maybe ironic, but so what. Record 2 is a weird collection of tribal drums, freestyle sounds and vocal collage, anarchic and trippy.

Could this be my favorite Mothers of Invention album? It's got "Hungry Freaks, Daddy", "Wowie Zowie", "You Didn't Try To Call Me", "I'm Not Satisfied" and a slew of others. Just remember this album the next time someone asks you to play a "drum sola".
