Mr. Flood’s Party
1969
Long Island, NY

Moody psychedelic rock with Anglophile touches. This features perhaps the strongest vocal arrangements I’ve heard on an unknown album. Power house drumming, aggressive compressed guitar and mystical baroque with strings all come to the aid of some unusual (and sometimes long) compositions which often seamlessly merge together. The only track that seems out of place might be “Stanley’s Tea”, which might’ve been more at home in the hands of “Spotlight On Harry” era Nilsson. Still, an interesting arrangement nonetheless.
