When I first heard this I was just falling in love with the person I’m still with. This song, contemplating the fear and inevitability of allowing yourself to be overcome by inescapable love, meant so much to me. All the house heads I was friends with at the time loved it to death too. I’m dearly fond of a lot of the mixes, but Joshua’s mo musique was the real shit. The unrelenting disco groove on that one (count the break downs) somewhat pushes the feel of the vocal away from the more R&B song structured output typical of Denes (which could get cheesy) towards a more oldshcool freestyle house vocal feel where the singer is largely just vibing out. I hope some the newest gen heads dig this one up the way they have other good 90s stuff (if they haven’t already - I’m out of the loop). I know a record on Om doesn’t have the sought after cred of a Detroit or NJ or more underground NY or Chicago release, but it’s gotta be about the content, and this right here is astonishing music.
