2016?!? Does this make any sense?!? The Haunted Town pressing is from '08...

There was a warehouse find on these green vinyl copies in about 1997... at the time they were being sold sealed for 9.99. Homestead Records had rather unsavory reputation for pressing up quantities of artists' records and not always disclosing the fact that, say, they ran off a thousand copies of their LP on green vinyl, or what have you. It's possible that's the case here, which could partially explain why these were held back for several years before hitting the streets. This is a solid edition, a nice pressing, good sound.

Double-sided CD cover insert includes the album artwork for Throb Throb but has song title info and artwork from the following album, All Rise, on the flip side (verso). Seemingly a misprint.

Does this version have a bar code on the back, bottom left hand corner of the sleeve? I have a copy that I've never opened that has code: 4 1753-10008-1 0

The 2nd LP from Chicago punk superstars is the one that nicely threads the needle between the more willfully obscure sound of Basement Screams, and the more populist woah-woahs of their later output. The political sentiments are well put (pretty pretty boys... onward to Minagua) and Surf Combat features one of my fave Raygun lines... "Muscle Beach is now Porkshop Hill" (which was penned by my friend and former bandmate, Camilo Gonzalez) over a fairly obtuse riff.

Stirring stuff.
